The draft on General Guidelines on Responsible Open Science is ready and your input is required!
In addition to the principles of the European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity, several additional principles should be considered in the context of responsible OS, including sharing and solidarity (especially of data, knowledge, and infrastructures), collaboration (including citizen science practices and stakeholder engagement), and equity (especially regarding access to OS infrastructures and funding).
Taking this into account and after the mapping and analysis of gaps and challenges of OS, the ROSiE project has drafted the General Guidelines on Responsible Open Science (complement to the European Code of Conduct) and invites those who are interested in contributing to the guidelines to submit their comments by June 1st.
A few words for the document...
The document aims to provide guidance on how to conduct Open Science (OS) responsibly.
The guidance is fully aligned with the values of openness, transparency, accountability and traceability, along with relevant rules (such as open access, open data and open methods, open material, among others). It is these values and related norms that can increase scientific credibility by allowing research to be more reproducible and reliable, which can increase integrity and trust in science.
